And how you can buy one too

Many people assume that you have to be rich to buy a château. That somehow because you live in a big house that there is a huge pot of money to match. Perhaps that it true for some people, perhaps they are the sensible ones. It certainly isn’t true for us.

I have written before about how we found ourselves here almost by accident. Not so much on a whim but because there seemed to be no reason not to take the leap. Maybe if we’d had more time to consider our plans we might have thought better about them, but I doubt it.

We threw our whole lot in with this house when we were just 37, with two children aged seven and five following in our footsteps - and its something that many other people could do too.
