We would have loved to have started our journey by train in France and have travelled through the Alps to Italy, but sadly time and the collapsed tunnel under the mountains meant that wasn’t possible, so we took a plane from Paris to Venice to start our travels. In 10 days we visited Venice, Modena, Florence, Rome, Pompeii and Sorrento - some places we loved, others we really didn’t - Italy though is definitely on our revisit list.
