I love reading your vlog. I have two cherry trees one way ahead of the other. A week ago I already had 30 kg of deep black cherries in the freezer. I think I ate another 5 kg.I gave up pitting years ago in favour of time spent better spent picking. After they have been frozen the skin is often burst and they are much easier to pit. I use them mainly for crumbles in the winter. You can pre make crumble mix and freeze it in bags in large batches. It doesn’t freeze hard so is ready to use straight out of the freezer. A great time saver for busy times.

As I was eating my homemade granola with fresh locally grown strawberries, admiring my just picked peonies, my husband wandered past and said “ you have been reading Rebecca again” thank you for bringing rural France to my west coast Canadian home every Sunday ❤️

I always save your blog for Monday morning! It gives me a warm feeling and sets the tone for my week ahead. Ever since we stayed at your place it now has even more significance. I love the way you describe your days so the reader feels like they are stood beside you passing an ingredient to help you make something simple yet spectacular - again! You have inspired my wife to think about creating a cutting garden too! Keep the blogs going as it’s clear we all love them.

I am happy you and Tim finally had a little time to yourself. That picnic set up is beautiful and the food in the basket sounded scrumptious. Love the picture of you both too. Was thinking of your future in the chateau and hoping you'll make enough money in the years to come so you can finish off the house, put money away for your retirement and then pay a few people full time to do all the work that you both do so that you and Tim can enjoy more down time and be able to ease into a retirement.

I love your stories. They inspire me to continue creating in my home and garden.

Regarding hands: once when I was consulting my doctor for some long forgotten compliant, he asked to see my hands. “Oh my” he said “those are working hands”.

Yup, a badge of honour to be proud of I say. I salute your non neat hands. ❤️

I finally had a moment to read and listen to your journal, while my toddler naps. Loved every second of it, it truly is my little escape every week. And I will have to try mint and sweet peas together, I have a lot of both of them!

Delightful read as always. Interesting to hear that combining mint with sweet peas works so well, I'd never have known. I'm definitely going to include both in my garden next year - that's if I can get them to grow in SE Spain!

Your Sunday sounded delightful, the picnic area looked beautiful and what a lovely idea someone had to do that. So glad you do take time out of your busy schedule to indulge yourselves. Thank you once again for sharing your week with us it’s lovely to read what you have been up to and to hear how your season is changing. We seem to be just a little ahead of you, although the summer seemed a long time getting here. We have had more rain this year than ever before especially in May. I have to say all gardens are looking better for it though. Take care lovely, that was a lovely photo of you and Tim X
